Starting with a Standard Life nozzle, Choice moves up through the value stream to an Ultra and Premium Life product, each with increasing performance and nozzle life.  All Flow Equivalent Nozzles, sometimes called Focusing Tubes, are available with the Brass Locator Ring and Gasket for use with Flow’s Paser ECL and Paser 4 Cutting Heads.

Standard Life Nozzle without brass locator ring

STANDARD LIFE NOZZLE & STANDARD LIFE NOZZLE WITH BRASS LOCATOR RING

This carbide nozzle is considered a cost-optimized, yet quality entry level tool.  This is the preferred tool for price sensitive shops that use their cutting equipment infrequently or for low volume test cuts.  Most production operations will move to an Extended Life or Premium Life tool as the need for accuracy and nozzle cutting life increases.  The Standard Life Nozzle can be ordered with a Brass Locator Ring (ECL) and gasket for ECL and Paser 4 Cutting Heads.

The Ultra Life Nozzle combines a higher precision manufacturing process with a special anodized coating.  These nozzles are considered the ideal balance between price and performance.  While the actual life of a nozzle is dependent upon many variables such as abrasive type, feed rates, on/off cycle rate, etc., Ultra Life Nozzles offer an extended life of up to 20% over Standard life Nozzles.  This is the preferred tool for shops that run high production looking for the best value.  The Ultra Life Nozzle can be ordered with a Brass Locator Ring (ECL) and gasket for ECL and Paser 4 Cutting Heads.

Premium Life Nozzles provide the highest cut accuracy and quality over the life of the nozzle. After the optimized grade nozzle is formed, all surfaces are ground to a high finish level. While the actual life of a nozzle is dependent upon many variables such as abrasive type, feed rates, on/off cycle rate, etc., the Premium Life Nozzles offers an additional life extension of up to 30%. The Premium Life Nozzle can be ordered with a Brass Locator Ring (ECL) and gasket for ECL and Paser 4 Cutting Heads.

SELECTING YOUR CHOICE WATERJET PARTS, FLOW EQUIVALENT WATERJET NOZZLE

Choice offers a full range of Nozzles that meet or exceed your nozzle life expectations. To select your Flow OEM Equivalent Nozzle/Focusing Tube:

  1. Choose your Performance Standard: Consider your application and performance requirement and choose your nozzle type (Standard Life, Ultra Life, Premium Life).
  2. Choose your Nozzle Style: No Brass Locator Ring or with Brass Locator Ring and Gasket (ECL).
  3. Choose your nozzle I.D.: After you have selected the appropriate nozzle performance required, choose the inside diameter (I.D.) you require relative to the orifice size and type you are using. Smaller I.D.’s provide greater precision, reduced taper on your cuts and a higher cut finish quality.  A larger I.D. allows for greater water and abrasive flow and provides for a faster cut.  A general rule of thumb is to start with a nozzle I.D. that is three times larger than the orifice being used.
  4. Choose your Nozzle Length: The 4” nozzle has become the industry standard due to the accuracy and extended life realized over shorter nozzles lengths. The clearance distance between the cutting head and material being cut may dictate optimum nozzle length.
